3. FN…Chinese soldiers come to the rescue. About 3000 Chinese soldiers and other workers are working non-stop in freezing temperatures to fix a downed 500 kilovolt power line. The repairs are being carried out at high elevation in areas covered with 60 cm of snow. Nonetheless, Tang Wenquan, general manager of the Hubei Electric Power Co. said he was determined, with the Army’s help, to have the line up again by the end of February.
Heaven bless Hubei Electric Power Company personnel and China’s soldiers for being heroes of peace as you return light and warmth to the people. We extend our heartfelt appreciation and wish your noble and courageous efforts the reward of quick power restoration.
