In animal welfare news, Roger James, a retired chemist in Washington State, USA has donated US$109,000 to the Benton Franklin Humane Society. The fund is for building a no-kill facility to house and care for cats and dogs. The Humane Society currently has a 3,700-square-foot building on a quarter-acre lot with limited running space for the dogs. The Humane Society envisions a new complex with a socialization space where cats can romp and play, kennels with outdoor dog runs, and a staff veterinarian to care for the animals’ health.
Thank you, Mr. Roger James, and may the Providence bless you for your generosity toward our animal co-inhabitants. A warm-hearted thanks to the Benton Franklin Humane Society for looking after our sweet and fun-loving animal friends.
