In world news, the Netherlands donates €16 million to support peace-building projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The funds will support infrastructure repair and security in the Nord-Kivu and Sud-Kivu provinces, where some 80,000 people have been displaced. A ministerial statement read on Congolese television said the government “will do everything to give the maximum chance for peace and allow the Congolese people as a whole, and particularly the population of Nord- and Sud-Kivu, to fully enjoy the benefits of peace.”
