1. FN…Media honors hero of Slovenia. As Slovenia recently took on the presidency of the European Union, the media turned to celebrate the career of the nation’s Second President Dr. Janez Drnovšek. As President, Dr. Drnovšek led his country to peace and prosperity during a time of transition. In an article in Ireland’s The Herald, titled, “Let’s Celebrate the Career of a True Maverick,” Harry Reid posed the question, “Which western leader does possess the remarkable spiritual strength of Janez Drnovšek?” Another writer, Martin Fletcher, also wrote of the former European head of state in his article, “All Hail the Mystic President,” published in the UK’s The Times. Mr. Fletcher had written, “Told he had cancer, Janez Drnovšek moved alone to the woods and embraced his inner spirituality…he is a hero to his people.”
At the conference for the Chinese release of his best-selling book, “Thoughts on Life and Consciousness,” organized by the Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association, Dr. Janez Drnovšek shared:

Dr. Janez Drnovšek: Positive energy is something that we really need. Positive thoughts, not negative thoughts, all the time being positive, being positive and when you are positive you will also see other people around you, you will spread your positive energy, you will help them. But to be positive we need something that, I should say, we need something that is the most important: to be balanced, to be kind, to be at peace, to be at peace with yourself first and when you are, then you will be positive.

Dr. Drnovšek is a vegan who has overcome serious diagnoses of cancer years ago. He is a champion of the weak, animals and the environment. His example of “remarkable spiritual strength,” modesty and honesty have earned him great admiration and affection both in Slovenia and beyond. Last year, Dr. Drnovšek received the Shining World Leadership Award, which was presented personally by Supreme Master Ching Hai.

Dr. Drnovšek will be participating in the upcoming conference for Supreme Master Ching Hai’s book release of “The Noble Wilds” this Sunday, February 17, 2008. This special videoconference will also be attended by the author herself, Supreme Master Ching Hai. Tune in for the live broadcast here on Supreme Master Television this Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 10:30 am - 12:00pm GMT and 11:30am - 1:00pm CET.

Thank you Prime Minister Rudd and Australia for your gracious amends. We also extend our gratitude to the Aboriginal people for your forgiving hearts and willingness to open a new page in the history of your great continent. May the Providence grace the indigenous people as well as all Australians with harmony and contentment.

12. FN… American pelicans back in numbers. The well-known winged icon of America’s sandy beaches, once an endangered species, is about to be declared healthy and safe. In 1972 the United States banned the pesticide DDT, which had caused a plummeting of the pelican population due to the eggs being too fragile for nesting. Now, the majestic birds’ numbers have rebounded to approximately 620,000 along the West Coast, the Gulf, Latin and South America.

Congrats on this invigorating story of success! With God’s blessings, we express our deepest gratitude to the United States for bringing back a flourishing population of our endearing pelican friends.

I’m happy as long as they feel well.” Using his monthly pension on medicine for his patients, Dr. Đặng says he will continue treating the less fortunate for the rest of his days.

Our hearts are deeply touched by your boundlessly giving nature, Dr. Đặng. You are an exemplary model of the physicians’ benevolent Hippocratic Oath. May Heaven reward you abundantly for your selfless service to people in need.

14. FN…Dogs sacrifice their lives for human family. When a fire started in a Minnesota home in the US last Friday, it was Bella, a 3-year-old golden retriever-collie mix that woke up her caregiver Sue Feuling and Sue’s 9-year-old daughter, who were able to get out safely. However, it is likely that Bella and Maddie, a 6-month-old golden retriever, thought the girl was still in the house, because they refused to leave even when called. Mrs. Feuling later said, “Everything I lost is nothing compared to them.”

We send our gratitude for the safety of the Feuling family and heartfelt condolences for the loss of your noble dog heroines. Bella and Maddie, your faith and courage will forever shine as a true example of the devotion of our animal companions. May you be forever happy with wagging tails in Heaven’s eternal love.

Our Master shed tears when hearing of your touching love and asked us to honor you in our Hero list.
